I’m feeling Enlightened. Not sure if it’s anything more than a paradox, but still, there’s some Enlightenment going on over here.

(vague thought, wouldn’t it be fun if “The Enlightened” was a gang about pyromaniacs, whose key objective was to set fire to as many things as possible without getting in trouble for it?)

I’ve always been appalled by our society’s fear/distrust of knowledge. Intelligent people are made fun of, looked down upon.

I choose to be part of The Enlightened despite the more fun choices of being a paradoxal cat (with LOLcats in tow), or a Gunslinger (as I would be all about the Roland references).

Is anyone else here enlightened?

This is fun. Maybe we should collectively try and decide on the stats for these cards…
Figure out who we can get a reasonable fix on, and devise cards for them.
The person in question should get some input, but the results would be more fun if we did it collectively.

On that note, I’m going to have to have a careful look at the real character cards and see what goes into making them…

Sorry, I thought Marth was making the suggestion for the final version not just asking to see it.

As for Let the Games Begin, I think the usefulness is really going to depend on the other cards in your deck (like Jigsaw’s character card, given that it’s his signature). This is a combo card if I ever saw one. Which is why it’s good that it has the +2 Grisly as well.

What happens if a studio (or artist, or whoever) chooses not to renew? Is there a possibility to keep that set in print without those particular cards? So set two with 5 characters but no Mr Blonde (to continue my example). I appreciate that’d require redoing the print sheets for that set.

I’m just remembering the rather abrupt way the Babylon 5 CCG licence was terminated a few years back. Drove the company in question (Pinnacle? I can’t remember) into bankruptcy, although their own crappy business practices had a lot to do with that. And of course, the deal with Star Wars that I’m sure you’re familiar with. Now granted this is a very different situation and the game isn’t dependant on any one licence but…

@AC: If I arranged to have you kidnapped for the latter half of December, do you think that’d speed up the release process at all?

(this is a bit of a joke, but see if you can figure out how this would go in terms of actual game mechanics.)

Papalorax – Attempts to overwhelm opponents with negativity and doubt.

Wampa_Dan – ? bombards the opponent with hundreds of short confusing messages, leaving them unable to figure out what to do.

CrystalShadow – Constantly confusing people with ambiguous sexuality and vague answers to any questions related to such…

Rhettbutler13 – Necromances everything he can get his hands on. (XD. – ok, he stopped doing that, but still)

Slaxer – Disrupts everything by grossing people out.

That’s some fairly arbitrary ones… Can you think of any others? (or alternate characteristics for people already mentioned? Or how these would translate to actual mechanics?)

That’s right, ChaosChild. Marth is commenting that he’d like to see a “more final” version, with pictures, since we know what the cards look like, now. (where before they wouldn’t post diagrams to spoil the images)

And Marth, I think, in the last few posts, we’re talking about the usefulness of cards like Let the Games Begin, but not necessarily that card. (just the deck drain aspect of this game)

All our licensing contracts have expiration dates but they can usually be extended at the end of the term when both parties agree to do so. We’ve done that many times in the past and plan to do it with FK as well. That’s the goal. With Madsen (Mr. Blonde), we should be okay if the studio agrees to extend as they have his rights. But as you’ve figured out, it’s all a case-by-case basis. We’re planning and hoping for the best, but we will deal with whatever arises in as creative and positive a way possible.

Hmm. More than I thought. Though I was sort of thinking in the region of 100 or so, as a very rough figure…

If I could somehow hack into whatever Decipher’s database back-end is, this would be much, much easier.

I would be rather surprised if the backend was incapable of doing a sort like this anyway, even though the interface decipher has built for it doesn’t allow it…

But looking through the code is a bit misleading, since what I get seems to be the end result of any database query, rather than the actual query itself…

EDIT: For those keep track, I’d like to point out that, once again, I was completely away from my PC for a few hours, with no way to exert the effort to check the forums. (as in, once again, news was presented while I was away…)

Got it in one. Basically I cut and pasted the list into Excel and sorted by post count. Took about 45 (very tedious) minutes, which is why I’m not in a hurry to do it every day. And there’s more users now too.

From what I can remember (I don’t have the spreadsheet on this machine) there were about 70 users with post counts in triple figures, though it’s probably gone up since then with the recent news updates.

Well, I meant more like a caricature.
Some basic stereotype behaviour or trait that is easily identifiable with you, and that you could use to define a ‘style’ to your card…
It’s quite difficult I know…
But see if you can come up with any for the more prominent forum members…
