Hey, welcome to the club! Of course, we all do it to a different degree (Hi, Wampa_Dan!), but I think that these forums are about getting to know people and having fun, not just about the game.

Cool. So I am 5’11” and i like long walks on the beach…. NOT. Left to my own devices I would play board games and CCG’s until my eyes fell out. Forunately my wife and kids remind to have a little balance.

From what I’ve gathered having a family can be a sobering experience (sometimes in a good way).

Morals are what hold the fabric of society together, what makes us human instead of animal. Morals keep us from tearing each other apart, which further enhances each individuals quality of life.

jonobgood, if you got screwed by SWCCG, STCCG, and LotRCCG, you must have bought the cards, and promptly hired someone to force them into you in ways that can only vaguely be described as “screwed”.

And that’s YOUR fault.

As for Wars, throwing it on there with the other 3 only makes me think that someone (ChaosChild?) was right. You probably wasted money on Wars and are now bitter.

I kinda don’t want an answer to this but…

@jono: In what way were you screwed on those games? They lost the licence for Star Wars so had to stop producing it; not their fault and if you want to hate someone blame LucasFilm or WotC. Wars never sold in enough numbers to make it viable to continue producing it. Not sure what happened with ST or LotR, I wasn’t around when those stopped.

I ploughed a fair bit of cash into Jedi Knights. Was I pissed off when it folded; yes of course I was. But I’m mature enough not to blame Decipher for economic and business conditions that were beyond their control.

Or maybe I should expect them to continue throwing money away just to support a hobby for a dwindling group of fans who don’t spend enough for D to be able to pay the bills? How much sense does that make, really?

As far as I know, from looking up Decipher’s quite well hidden site for their other products…
They still sell some of their older games.

As for the ST CCG… (The only decipher game I’ve actually got any sizeable collection of)
1st edition stopped around 2001. 2nd edition, from what I’ve seen had it’s last ever expansion early 2008. So how you can consider that to be ‘getting screwed’ is beyond me…

I’m not even a Decipher loyalist, but given how much longer Decipher’s games have lasted than any non-Decipher, non-Magic game I can think of, I am unable to fathom how anyone could think they’ve been treated unfairly by Big D.

That’s very true. SWCCG would have run and run if they didn’t lose the licence.
