I heard a rumor that perhaps newbies might appreciate a jargon dictionary.
Not just for Fight Klub but for CCGs in general.
So I am starting this threads for newbies (if they are brave enough) and old timers to post words or sayings from the CCG world they are unfamiliar with and we will put our collective minds together to explain what the word or phrase refers to.

“masteryoda” (mast-er-yoh-duh) n.

One of the most notorious CCG gamers in the world, masteryoda is best known for his signature “crazy eyes” that when implemented drive other gamers/opponents insane with fear. considered armed, dangerous and above else AWESOME. particularly enjoys people telling him how awesome he is, and also likes to receive old LoTR cards from random people in the mail.

CCG – Collectible Card Game
TCG – Trading Card Game
Deck- what you draw from
Hand- what you hold in your, um, hand
Card- What… Okay, this is just ridiculous

Further definition of CCG: It’s cooler than a TCG, especially when it stands for Customizable Card Game. =]

for those that don’t know the history…

Decipher, the company behind the game of Fight Klub, (and this site) has made other games such as the Star Wars Collectible Card Game, (known as SWCCG) and the Lord of The Rings Collectible Card Game (known as LoTR)

When you see people on the forums using these letters, (like me) they are talking about these games.

SWCCG was known for using no dice, tokens of any kind, and was also special because you could have any number of any card in your deck that you wanted, (60 Stormtroopers? okay!) there was also a 60 card deck limit too, because the object was to deplete your opponent’s deck

LoTR was special in the way that it HAD no deck limit, but usually you didn’t see decks over 70cards. Also, there was a 4 card limit on every different card in the game, (common or rare, you could only have 4 copies in the deck…)

...thats it…

just to nitpick on this fine Friday –
LotR was actually named as a TCG. I remember being annoyed about it because i really liked the concept of a customisable card game

Blaiser – (blay-zer) n.

A CCG, TCG and minitures gamer known for his ability to pick out the best packs at sealed tournaments. After severely freaking out some players and convincing others that psychics do exist two stores have changed their rules on how sealed packs are chosen (ie – players are no longer allowed to chose their own). Other than scaring some players with his strange abilities he is known to be friendly and generaly unthreatening as long as you’re not a sore loser. He is patient and understanding with those he teaches games to.
Note – Blaiser is a little upset that his otherworldy talent will not be accessible in any foreseeable way in FK; but with the reduced cost to collect he agrees he will have to play anyway. Perhaps just telling the other fighter what they have in their hand will be enough to get a rise out of him.

Wampa (Wah-M-Puh) V. Making a post considered to be bizarre, humorous, or downright pointless. Coined for the actins of notorious nutball known as Stumpy to his friends, and well enemies as well.
