The idea I have is simple and it’s kind of been done before. Create your own magazine specifically for this game only. List the year + schedule along with the choices\ideas needed by the players. People can advertise in their area and have inconjunction… with this idea, a guy’s form of mary k. or tupperware party, but instead you play fight club get new people involved with demo/stuff… some prizes etc…

I left out a comment on the magazine idea. You can make the magazine more of a grass roots organizer for fights and have a lot of player articles. As the game progresses, there can be a lot of character builds to discuss.. assuming that the game keeps relatively balanced. A series of editors can spend more time monitoring the articles people write and helping clarify some promotional fights or cover some klub fights going on in different towns. Pictures everying… What people did to make there fight party.. a blast, tough, etc…

I’m personally going to start a website that’s going to be a combination of a local tourney organizer (for people in the area) and a deck garage (to include the Fight Klub community as a whole). I’m going to start it as myself, and branch to include people who contribute good info.

Ideas for different “jobs” include:

Tourney Reporter
Odd Strategy (stuff that isn’t “basic”, or breaks all “popular” deck builds)
Previewer (if Decipher reveals a new card in the next set, this guy explains what it is, and how it might affect current known cards in play)
Deck Garage Playtesters (test submissions to the deck garage, and rate them based on several playtest rounds; easier to do than other CCGs, as we can all afford all the cards for once!)

I would do a magazine, but I’m so much better with stuff that isn’t in print. And more “instantaneous”. (even if I get a magazine going, it would take a week to get it to people, whereas with a website I can post it 5 minutes after hearing about it)

I’d be happy to freelance for anyone that needs help. Articles, playtest, etc…

yeah, online “magazines” would be the way to go, especially with this site being the “store” or whatever.

considering how tech-smart Alpha is, he sounds like the perfect guy for the job. (hey, am i in?)

I think that pulling a group from this site to start an “online FK Magazine” would be awesome.

The only real trick would be what to do with the Connector %age that comes in. We could fund the site, of course. Maybe we could hold contests at a later point, and use that %age to buy contest winners a Kilo from a set of their choosing? (like, if connector %age comes to me, I then buy a Kilo and mail it to them?)

If I knew of a good domain name to go for, I’d go ahead and register so the basics could be done before info needs to be added…

simplist is the best for names. and you want more than just one domain. if you can, get the same name under as many extentions as possible and have them all re-direct to your main domain.

example: FK.com, FK.net, FK.org, FK.uk

“Fightklub” is probably already owned by decipher. so try other variations. As this is an e-zine idea, incorporate that.

FKzine
FightKlubZine
Fightkzine
FKlubzine
FKZ

etc…

I still like the idea of bribery. :P
