So…I live in Girard, OH- right outside Youngstown.

What does it take to become a founding mentor?

I’m a big card-gamer, even though I only have ever played Magic: the Gathering, World of Warcraft and Lord of the Rings.

This game seems like the revolution…might as well become a part of it. :)

I’m sorry, but the application period for founding mentors has already ended. However, just by signing up for this forum you have shown your interest in the game, and Decipher should place you in contact with a founding mentor soon so that you can gain mentor status yourself. Just make sure that your email doesn’t block messages from Decipher representatives.

Yeah, I too was disappointed to learn I had visited Decipher only to miss out on the Founding Mentor part.

Of course, knowing my gaming area, the nearest Mentor is going to be at least 90 minutes away, so maybe I can help spark interest near myself.

I don’t think there will be a difference between FMs and mentors once the game is released. Well, a FM will get his share from your purchases.
So all options will be open for those who missed the deadline.

I used to think that there would be no difference between Founding Mentors and Mentors, but I was corrected. Both Founding Mentors and Mentors get 10% from people they get to join the game, but Founding Mentors also get preview information, extra opportunities to participate in game development, and who knows what other perks that won’t be available to other players.

It’s supposed to be stuff that only lasts until the game actually comes out. Of course, that’s still stuff I can’t access because I missed the deadline. I’ll get my 10% too when the game comes out, but you get lots of pre-game stuff I’ll miss out on.

... and again: As far as I know Mentors will have the same influence on further game development once the game is released. ;)
But there will probably be a difference between those during the making of Fight Klub…

Guys,

the whole point of Fight Klub is that everyone will have a say and have access to game.

Yes founding metors will have some extra privilages around seeing things before normal members.

But the concept is that we all work together to create the game experience that all of us enjoy playing and contributing too.

Avatar AlphaCenturion 2,387 post(s)

Obviously. That’s what everyone has said so far. I honestly can’t wait to be part of the well-oiled machine that is Fight Klub.

I’m still perturbed at myself for missing the chance to be a Founding Mentor, but I’ll more than make up for that loss with my activities as a mentor once the game comes out.

Alpha , That is the sort of attitude that will make fight klub . Great .

Yeah i wish i had randomly stumbled on Decipher.com a month earlier so i could be a FM.

Avatar Chibri 318 post(s)

Yeah, i randomly decided to visit Decipher.com the day after the FM deadline 8o/ Pity because im not sure if there’s even another FM in the country!
Ah well… I reckon though that we’ll all be motivated to make the game work even without the extra’s that FM status gives.

I don’t think FMs are going to have all that many more priveleges than other mentors besides getting a first look at the game. I just happened to stumble upon sign ups a week before the timer ended (well, then they extended it a couple days). If I had stumbled upon it after the timer had ended I’d be waiting just the same. Oh, and I’d probably have a lot more posts on here if I didn’t have college classes, work, and a fiance that tells me I’ve had enough time on the computer :p

Avatar Wampa_Dan 5,137 post(s)

Yeah, but I’m trying to see the other side. I, obviously got here weeeell before the timer expired since I normally checked Decipher’s site. I totally understand why someone would want to be a founding member especially when they are this involved from the beginning. Also, when the site map goes up the more locations for FMs the better and since they are still way less than 6000 board uses I would assume there is still less than 6000 FMs so why not take on a few more?

Wow this is kind of nostalgic really…
