Hello again, here we go for another week.
Sadly, due to extended voting of gang names there is nothing new this week. :( So I will leave the voting link in the ‘new news’.
We should have our new gang names withing a day or two. I will add that and do a ‘Tuesday/Wednesday speacial bulletin’.

Morrath’s Monday update was created for everyone to have a quick reference as to how the game is progressing. The “New News” is items that have been added in the last week or so. The “Old News” contains links to threads that new users should read to be brought quickly up to speed on the games development.

Gang Name Voting
-Decipher sent out an email to the FM’s with a link to a site to vote on the gang names, hotmail clients had some issues recieving the email.

Rules version 0.9.9.6
- Rule Book draft version 0.9.9.6 is available. There were very few changes between v0.9.9.5 and v0.9.9.5. I think we can expect to see version 1 in the very near future.
(There was actually no change to this from the previous week, but I feel this might be the single most important thread for new members)

Easy to use Recruitment Brochure

That is how democracy works. We dont just make changes after the vote. IMO the names will have to stick until the next ‘election’.

Is this about helping people survey the state of things or brainwashing them toward what you think should happen?

Democracy also works for ammendments by the way, and by not posting the link intentionally, you’re no better than us in using totalitarian means to get your way.

I suppose that link counts… but still.

I don’t see how not posting a link to one particular topic can be considered brainwashing. If he’d posted a link to an alternative viewpoint then maybe, but all he’s really done is not draw attention to it.

I certainly don’t see how this justifies insulting someone who’s just trying to be helpful just because they don’t agree with your point of view.

It’s not helpful if BaronMorrath posts a list that he strongly implies to be all that there is to look at, when it isn’t. Omitting topics that go against your agenda is nothing short of lying to newcomers.

Smokey makes a good point, and I agree with him even though my position on the vote is wavering (if people really want to join a gang that shares part of its title with another gang, that’s their option). I used to have the utmost respect for Morrath going to all this trouble, but I really couldn’t care less anymore.

Ok this needs to stop… We keep this up there will be a massive divide and grudges everywhere. If it’s going to bring the whole community down in flames… it isn’t worth it. And I say this as one of the dissidents, and even more importantly one of the hatemongerers.

ouch, so much hate. Your right, I listed the wrong reason for not posting the link in the news feed. I should not have said anything about it.
I did not post links to people trying to be added to the FM list., and this movement to change the gang names falls into the same category.
I started the update to help newcomers to the sight get their bearing and get to know what they need to know to join discussions such as changing the gang names.
And not to influence their opinion.

It was created to be informative. Perhaps I have lost my way…

Well the name isn’t exactly subtle. I, for example, refer to it as my “friends list” :D.

I call mine a ‘hitlist’ so people actually have a chance of catching on. ;-P

I figure they’ll catch on when you give them a 10 second head start… :P

Putting a bullet through their abdomen also alerts them to that fact.
