@Altarvo what was your favorite lotr deck?

You should all add yourselves to the map.

Cool, do you play any other games?

Avatar Altarvo 718 post(s)

@ Sweet_Stuff

My favorite deck changed several times. Early on, I liked starting with Frodo, the ranger version of Boromir, and Merry. I had a couple copies of the Shards of Narsil to play Still Sharp (that was when +3str +1dam was a big pump). I also had several copies of the twilight-removing Aragorn so that I could get him out and so that I could use them to heal him or store them on the Shards. I included some Gondor Bowmen and Aragorn’s bow, and had Legolas Greenleaf to help pick off minions. I ran it so as to have enough directed archery to whittle down the number of minions while having enough pumps to engage them up close as well. It usually did pretty well against my friends, but I never got into tournaments (and I never really followed articles about the game, so I don’t know if this deck had a name or anything). I paired that fellowship side with Isengard wounding orcs.

More recently, I just got the Expanded Middle Earth deck with Elrond’s sons, and they are really hardcore and a lot of fun (but seem overpowered). That deck had the first cards past Mt. Doom that I got; I don’t like how D did things after that. I have a friend who kept getting cards and keeps trashing my tough fierce minions with “Sting – Bane of the Eight Legs.” That’s probably my least favorite card. It’s annoying to play against it, and I’d feel lame using it. Anyway, I like my elf/easterling deck quite a bit.

@ philos

Just post a little tag somewhere over the center of Portland or over the river or something. That way you can add to the show of power in the Portland area without needing to worry about stalkers showing up at your house. (What the heck? We came to get philos, but the map says he lives in the middle of the river! Let’s go get scuba gear…)

Southern Oregon, myself.

Edge of Portland and Gresham here. My husband and I play LOTR still on occasion. I preferred straight Gondor deck and I frequently changed up my Dark side.

Avatar Loganrocks 2 post(s)

Howdy!!! LOTR was my game of choice, I am a Vancouver person. Never was overly competitive because I built decks that were fun and not to win. Although some would argue about my besieger site control/archery bomb with Southron archers, but I digest. I have no idea about this new game, just seemed to be an interesting concept. Reward for recruiting. Are these cards going to be real cards or virtual cards on the net?

Avatar Altarvo 718 post(s)

Somewhere Decipher said (I think in the FAQ page up across the top) that the game is going to be printed on real cards and, perhaps after a year or so, virtual cards.

EDIT: Ah, here we go! Q: Will there be an online/digital version of the game?
A: Perhaps. Most of our licensing covers this possibility, but we do not plan to introduce such a product in the first year or so of Fight Klub™.
